While we seek to provide concrete
help to those who are in need, our overall purpose in
medical clinics is that those who come will hear the gospel.
We are seeking to plant much seed in the hearts of many
people in Ukraine. Many here do not have an understanding
of the gospel, and may in the clinic for the first time
hear the message of Christ. Since our focus as IMB missionaries
is planting new churches, the majority of our clinic locations
are planned with that in mind. Therefore, the clinics
are held in places where the patience and flexibility
of medical personnel is a necessity, and not a virtue.
Some are held outdoors, in churches, hospital clinics,
houses, government buildings, etc.
Since our goal is to have
the greatest impact possible during the time you are here,
in most cases we will plan to have clinics in multiple locations
where young churches have begun, or are targeted to begin.
This will require more moving and mobility, but it is worth
it.
| Please understand that another important
goal of your coming is to encourage and uplift your
fellow believers with whom you will work. You will form
friendships that may last for many years. You will see
missions needs that will touch your heart and cause
you to pray for our people here in ways you could have
never done so previously. |
