Last week, September 7-13, a group of medical volunteers
from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Oklahoma led 10 medical clinics in
the Poltava Oblast (state). Our East Central Ukraine region in which
we work includes this state of Ukraine, and we partner with different
churches and believers there to help new and young churches in that
region.
Working along with the American volunteers were a
number of Ukrainians who registered those who came, preached and
witnessed, translated, worked as medical personnel, and just helped
out with general needs.
The medical clinics were held in 10 different places
where we have new, small churches. Over 1500 different people were
treated resulting in approximately 2000 visits with a medical professional.
This type of project is a great help in these communities helping
the local people understand who evangelicals are, and that believers
not only want to share a spoken word with them, but also to offer
concrete help to them. In the clinics, medical doctors treated various
conditions, dentists pulled many a bad tooth, and almost 1000 pairs
of glasses were given to people who came for help.

The clinics help create a level of awareness and
respect among the citizens and officials in the community where
they are held. Many hear the gospel preached, and many seeds are
planted in lives that bear fruit not only on the day of the clinic,
but for some time to come.
We ask you to PRAY that God's Spirit
will use the Word spoken, Bibles given, acts of kindness and mercy, and
seeds sown to bring forth a harvest in the lives of those who came to
the clinics. PRAY for the young churches and missionaries
working in the places where the clinics were held.
