McComb Baptist Church Project Recap. - July 15-21, 2005

Day Camp is a fun time, as Bible lessons are learned, games are played, etc. These children are enjoying craft time led by volunteers from MS.

A volunteer group came to work in the city of Dnipropetrovsk July 15-21. They came from First Baptist Church in McComb, Mississippi. The project they were involved with focused on two different places and ministries. The group was working with a new church in Dnipropetrovsk called “Hope”.

Part of the team lead a day camp for children in a neighborhood of the city called “Topol” (which means “poplar”). Each day the kids enjoyed a great time including Bible stories, crafts, games, rec time, and some light refreshments. The children all received a Bible story book on the last day as well as many other fun things. The group from MS had a ball working with the kids.

A volunteer from MS helps with doing repairs at a local school where a new church seeking to develop community relationships.

In addition, the second half of the group were involved in helping to renovate a section of a school building. The school is located in the neighborhood where Hope church is located, and the church is trying to develop a relationship with this school in order to reach out to teachers and students there. We’d like to encourage teachers and administrators through deeds as well as words. The project went well, all the planned work was completed and the folks at the school were very pleased. We ask you to pray that God will use this work to open hearts in the school to doing further work there to share Jesus.
